Walk Straight, Act Right, Tell the Truth!

I was reading this Psalm today in the Message Bible...I love how it gets straight to the point without mincing words. It's so clearly laid out...why do we Christians try to make it so difficult with all our "gray" areas? It is completely black-and-white...no room for confusion, no blurry lines, no "exceptions to the rule."

"God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list?

'Walk straight, act right, tell the truth. Don't hurt your friend, don't blame your neighbor; despise the despicable. Keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, never take a bribe. You'll never get blacklisted if you live like this.'" (Psalm 15)

There are passages like that ALL through the Bible. How can God get any more clear? If we need to know how to live, all we have to do is read the Book...it's all there. He never had any intention of trying to make it difficult for us to walk a righteous life. We make it difficult, we allow the enemy to make it difficult. If we can learn to eat of his word continually and hide it in our hearts, the answer to every question and the solution to every problem will be right there every time we need it. Thank you, Lord, for your word and for the very clear directions that it contains.
