Psalm 18 (Message)

I love you, God - you make me strong. God is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. My God - the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout. I sing to God, the Praise-Lofty, and find myself safe and saved. The hangman's noose was tight at my throat, devil waters rushed over me. Hell's ropes cinched me tight, death traps barred every exit. A hostile world! I call to God, I cry to God to help me. From his palace he hears my call, my cry brings me right into his presence - a private audience! (1-6)

What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it. (30)

I am doing ok...getting through it as best as I can. The one thing that keeps me going is the hope that I have in God. I have been through just about every emotion possible in the last five days...grief, anger, hurt, confusion, depression...and now finally...just a sad acceptance. But through it all, God has never taken his hand from me. He has held me up above water and kept me from drowning. He is starting to teach me some things already through this experience. I have been begging him for months to show me his heart. And...I think in a way....he is. If I feel such pain and agony over my loss....one that I know I will be reunited with someday....what grief and sorrow must he feel over the loss of so many of his children? His heart is for his lost. What grief he must bear! The word says that he loves us even more than we as humans are capable of loving our own children. I can't imagine how much it pains him to lose any one of those children, let alone SO MANY. So I am thankful...thankful to have a glimpse into my Lord's heart. Thankful for his love. Thankful that he can use this situation to teach me and change me and draw me closer to him.

Bring me joy
Bring me peace
Bring the chance
To be free
Bring me anything
That brings you glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise you
Jesus, bring the rain
(Mercyme)
***
Stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
Stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day what's lost will be found
So stand in the rain
(Superchick)
