Isn't that just about the most difficult thing to do??? I mean, you finally get a two hour stretch when the baby is sleeping soundly and you KNOW that what you really should do is turn off the phone, put a movie in for the older kids, and park it in your bed for a nice little game of "Catch Up on Your Beauty/Sanity Sleep."

And then you look around.

Your eyes behold your surroundings.

The mountain of laundry. The dirty dishes still sitting on the table from lunch. The blessed shower that you haven't yet had time for just waiting for you to step in and use.

And you cave.

Later on, about 3 a.m. to be precise, you are reminiscing about that naptime...about what could have been. You are kicking yourself for not taking advantage of it.

And the next day...

You do it again.

Isn't motherhood funny?
