Since my last post, we have made a big change in our lives. We have moved from the Brazil area, where Danny and I have lived for more than half of our lives. We are now renting a house in Terre Haute, and we are about ten-twelve minutes away from anything and everything we need or want. We are already seeing drastic savings in both gasoline and time. It was a necessary move for us. Driving back and forth at least once a day was draining us of needed finances. Nevertheless, it was a difficult move at first. It was hard to move from the house we were in, with the huge property and massive privacy, to the house we are in now, in the middle of town. We have very close neighbors. We hear lots of noise that we never heard out in the country....dogs, cars, trains, etc. But, it's been over a month now, and we are already settled in and feeling at home. And the money we are saving makes it all worth it. The house itself is very cute. The layout is different from our old house and there is more space for us to spread out. So, all in all, I am very happy with the move.
The kids are doing great. Hailey is now in the youth group at church and has made several new friends and reconnected with some old ones who are challenging her in her walk with Christ and helping her mature and grow in the Lord. She has a "special" friend (she will kill me if she happens to read this) who is a really great kid and sold out for Jesus. I encourage her daily to keep her focus on God and let him direct her paths and I truly do believe that she is trying her hardest to do just that.
Nick has grown up a lot in the last few months. He has such a heart for the Lord and a hunger for more of Him. And he loves relationships. He loves to spend time with people, to talk and play games and interact. He is a people person. Where Hailey can hide away for hours with a book, Nick doesn't enjoy spending time alone, he is always interested in hanging out with someone else.
Holly just turned nine and is doing great. She is such a sweet girl. We were blessed to move within walking distance of one of her new friends at church and they have gotten so close in the last couple of months. She and her best friend Lillie just made a special trip to Bloomington for Holly's birthday. We went to a movie, lunch, and Build-a-Bear, where Holly made her furry friend "Asriel" (Lillie's middle name). It was a lot of fun.
Hallie is so much fun right now but also such a challenge. She is by far the most independent child I have. She is also opinionated, impatient, and loves to pester her siblings! But oh, how I love her!! She is such a joy. And she is growing up way too fast.
Well, that's about all the time I have right now. Glad I had a few minutes to sneak in an update!
